| A handler rides to find his bird dog that was seen on
the knoll. Rolling hills, long draws and flat stretches
of land were the topographic area for the derby stake. |
|

| Andrew Fenny rides in the gallery waiting for his turn
to handle his female Pointer, Blackie. He is an outstanding
young man willing to work hard and help everyone in camp.
He feed horses, staked out dogs and even found lost dogs. |
|
|

| Roy Terry of California came to support the various field
trials and to handle Eric Erickson's setter in the derby.
Eric seems well and is recovering after being thrown from
his horse several months ago. |
|

| Pat Lamantia is the representative for Purina, that sponsored
the Western Open. Without sponsorships like Purina, field
trials would not be the fun event it is today. In fact,
many clubs depend on sponsorships, otherwise they would
not be able to have trials. |

ground in search of birds. Jim is riding another fine horse
owned by Sheldon Twer. |

| Behind a horse, a handle and his scout gives water to
their bird dog. Even during the 30 minutes derby, many dogs
require water to continue to hunt hard. |
