perfecting his shooting form with a BB rifle. Introducing
kids to the sport of hunting is imperative if we want
to continue to hunt and enjoy the great outdoors. One
of the most important aspects is keep it simple and fun.

Pheasants
2000
general pheasant season. All pictures were taken on hunts and
on wild bird (Pages 1, 3,
and 4).

| These
birds were taken over Gary's and my dogs. For those that
hunt wild pheasants in alfalfa fields in Southern California
this represents a great harvest. Not so much the number
of pheasants taken but with the way our bird dogs handled
and pinned these hardy birds. |

to hunt and fish. Gary is also a bowhunter with great woodsman
abilities. |

Although young, Nick is making the
most of these field opportunities by learning how to
handle bird dogs and watching them work. This bird was
taken over Temis.

A dog trailer is often needed to safely
travel with too many bird dogs. This trailer was custom
made for me by Lito, my brother-in-law.

Near the end of shooting time, I harvested
this pheasant over Sage. Sage is still learning to handle
wild birds and many of her mistakes were due to inexperience.
