Aug. 1, 1999: Most of the USA is experiencing record heat with temperatures reaching over 100° Fahrenheit. Humans and dogs need to keep cool to avoid heat related health problems. Because dogs are not immune to heat stroke, make sure they always have fresh water. It's also important they have a cool shady area to relax. Recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved new drugs to treat separation anxiety and Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome in dogs. These links are found in First Aid and Health.
