A divided find, both Roxie (right) and Buster (left) are motionless holding a wild pheasant on an edge of a cut alfalfa field in El Centro, California. Bird dogs with experience hunting wild birds know to stand some distance away yet manage to hold the bird in place. These dogs need to be bold and fast to handle pheasants.

Sage relax as she feed her pups. Sage is an outstanding bird dog with tremendous stamina and a wonderful personality. Hall of Fame breeder and field trialer, Lee West, gave me Sage as a young pup when I visited Bill West in Oklahoma. Please see Sage's pedigree.
