Sam
Madamba has lived in Southern California for over 20 years. His
interest in bird dogs began while working at the Arthur Vining
Davis Center for Behavioral Neurobiology at the Salk Institute,
in La Jolla, California.
Sam
obtained his first bird dog, a Pointer he named Kiwi Magic, during
the winter of 1985. Like most novice owners, he read books, watched
videos, joined bird dog clubs and talked with various trainers.
This interest grew into a passion that lead him to seek knowledge
from professionals. Over the past 10 years he's developed close
personal relationships with numerous experts, especially Bill
West.
Along with
bird dog training and hunting upland birds, Sam also hunts big
game. He enjoys the challenge of bowhunting big game as well as
upland birds.
Together
with Bill West and others, Sam conducts yearly training seminars
and snake avoidance training. UplandBirdDog.com is evidence of
Sam's commitment to bird dogs and the sport of hunting.
